WIA Gold is assembling the Owner’s Team for the Kokoseb Gold Project in the Erongo region and is hiring for several key mining jobs in Namibia across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out.
Kokoseb is a joint venture between Wia Gold (80%) and Namibia’s state-owned Epangelo Mining Company. Their target is first gold in the fourth quarter of 2028. For senior mining professionals, this is an amazing opportunity to shape a greenfield gold project from the ground up.

Most roles ask for at least 15 years of experience on major mining, minerals processing, infrastructure or heavy industrial capital projects, with greenfield gold experience seen as an advantage. The Current Mining Roles We Are Hiring for in Namibia
Kokoseb Project Controls Manager
Reporting to the Project Director, you will build and lead the integrated project controls framework. That covers the master schedule, cost control, forecasting, progress measurement, and change and risk management. You will need 15+ years in project controls, including senior leadership in an Owner’s Team, EPC or EPCM environment. You should also know Earned Value and critical path analysis, and be advanced in Primavera P6 and Excel.
Kokoseb Commercial Manager
This role leads the commercial, contractual and procurement governance of the project. You will run tender evaluations and negotiations, assess variations and claims, and conclude final accounts. It calls for 15+ years of commercial, contracts or procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of anti-bribery controls and Delegation of Authority.
Kokoseb Procurement and Contract Specialist
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will manage procurement planning, tendering, bid evaluations and contract administration. Experience procuring major equipment and long-lead items for mining or process plant projects is key. Knowledge of Incoterms and FIDIC contract forms is an advantage.
Kokoseb Senior Project Engineer (Process Plant)
You will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces, monitor deliverables against the schedule, and support mechanical completion, commissioning and handover. The role needs 15+ years in an Owner’s Team, EPC or EPCM environment and a good understanding of gold process plant interfaces.
Kokoseb Senior Project Engineer (NPI)
The same core responsibilities as the process plant role, focused on non-process infrastructure. Practical construction-site, field engineering and commissioning support experience matters here.
Kokoseb Senior Civil Engineer (Process Plant)
You will provide the Owner’s technical oversight of civil designs, specifications and tender documents for the process plant. That means monitoring bulk earthworks, concrete and foundations, reviewing quality plans and ITPs, and verifying defect close-out at handover. A civil engineering degree and 15+ years of experience are required. Professional registration or eligibility is needed, and Namibian registration is advantageous.
Kokoseb Senior Civil Engineer (NPI)
This role carries the same civil oversight duties across non-process infrastructure, including roads, drainage and water management. Strong practical knowledge of civil codes, QA/QC, constructability and contract administration is expected.
Kokoseb Senior Electrical Engineer
You will oversee electrical designs, monitor installation of substations, transformers, switchgear and MCCs, and support energisation and commissioning. You need 15+ years of experience, strong HV/LV distribution knowledge, and experience reviewing protection coordination and single-line diagrams.
Kokoseb Senior Mechanical Engineer
You will provide technical oversight of mechanical designs and datasheets, and monitor installation of crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, pumping and piping systems. You will also review welding, NDT and pressure-test records. Experience with FATs, equipment selection, alignment and performance testing is expected.
Kokoseb Senior SMPP Engineer
SMPP stands for Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Platework. You will review fabrication and erection methodologies, welding procedures and NDT, and lead mechanical completion and punch-list walkdowns. Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication tolerances and international codes is essential.
Kokoseb Senior EIC Engineer
This role oversees electrical, instrumentation, control, telecommunications and OT systems. You will review designs for HV/MV infrastructure, substations, DCS/SCADA and automation, and coordinate contractors through to operational handover. You need 15+ years in EIC engineering, including 8 in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
Kokoseb Senior Planner
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will maintain the integrated master schedule and review contractor schedules. You will also assess recovery plans and prepare critical-path analysis. Advanced Primavera P6 is a must, along with experience in Level 1–4 and commissioning schedules and delay and extension-of-time assessment.
Kokoseb Senior Cost Controller
You will maintain the control budget, commitments and forecasts, and prepare EAC, forecast-to-complete and cash-flow reports. The role asks for 10–15 years of project cost-control experience with strong site-based experience across multiple contracts. SAP and advanced Excel are advantageous.
Kokoseb Government and Community Liaison Manager
Large mining projects succeed or fail on their relationships with government and host communities. This role will be central to managing that engagement for Kokoseb.
Kokoseb Human Resource Manager
A project of this scale needs a strong people function. This role will support workforce planning and employee relations as the project moves from construction through to operations.
