Job Description:

Our client is in search of a Senior Project Planner. This role entails reporting to the assigned project manager in a line management setup and to the planning manager in a functional reporting matrix. The Senior Project Planner will have the responsibility of crafting the comprehensive project execution schedule and supervising project deliverables to guarantee conformity with the approved baseline schedule.


  • Create, update, and oversee detailed project execution schedules, incorporating resource allocation as needed.
  • Generate and maintain the master project schedule, including updated progress curves comparing planned versus actual progress.
  • Establish work programs and key milestones for each phase/discipline based on the master project execution schedule.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop the work breakdown structure (WBS).
  • Develop and seek approval for the basis of schedule (BoS) and/or schedule management plan (SMP) from the Project Manager (PM).
  • Manage progress tracking and critical path analysis.
  • Handle corrective actions and provide schedule recommendations.
  • Manage schedules for fabricators, suppliers, and construction contractors.
  • Assist in formulating recovery plans with contractors.
  • Aid in addressing project schedule claims.
  • Detect progress delays and devise strategies for recovery, including identifying new critical activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports.
  • Draft reports and presentations for management review.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in planning control, governance, and reporting through previous experience.
  • Manage dependencies within project plans to ensure schedule integration and proactively address issues, offering solutions.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Relevant Primavera P6 Professional Advance Rel 17 or higher (Oracle University Certification advantageous but not required)
  • Relevant MS Projects certification (advantageous but not required)
  • PMI-SP Qualification (advantageous but not required)
  • Minimum 6 years project execution planning
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a planner on EPCM engineering projects
  • Minimum 2 years spend on site during construction phase of project.
  • Solid understanding of resource loading within the MS Projects and Primavera environment
  • Proficiency in developing and interpreting project histograms.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles, disciplines, and deliverables.
  • Experienced in managing multi-disciplinary engineering and construction projects.
