Plant Operator (Mining / SHE/ Explosives / Process Plant / Blasting) – Zambia

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a suitably qualified person to perform all aspects of a Plant Operator. The person will operate the manufacturing facilities safely, efficiently and effectively to address production and distribution requirements. The candidate will adeptly manage manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental standards. This role is integral to delivering superior bulk emulsion products to our clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safe working practices to prevent injuries.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal condition.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
- Minimize environmental impact through effective waste management.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Operate and monitor plant machinery to meet production schedules.
- Perform routine maintenance and uphold cleanliness of equipment.
- Conduct quality control tests on raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure timely ordering and proper storage of raw materials.
- Verify accurate labeling and appropriate accreditation signage.
- Follow established manufacturing procedures to maintain product quality.
- Record quality assurance data for analysis.
- Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and record-keeping of plant operations.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- 3+ years’ experience in a dangerous goods/bulk explosives/heavy industry/process plant environment preferred.
- Valid license to drive and operate vehicles.
- Zambian nationals encouraged to apply.
