Job Description:

Our client is seeking a qualified Mechanical Coordinator to coordinator HME activity between the mechanical engineering departments at their mine site in West Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing performance, management and continuous efficiency improvement of the Heavy Mobile Equipment.
• Assisting in the creation of the holistic maintenance framework for both company and contractor activity to ensure compliance to preventative and planned maintenance activities.
• Repairs, servicing and troubleshooting.
• Compilation of standard operating policies and procedures.
• Monitoring of fuel consumption, downtime, utilization and availability and reporting against set KPI’s.
• Budgeting and cost control and analysis of variances.
• Overseeing contractor activity.
• Assisting with spares procurement and management.
• Ensure environmental, health and safety standards are adhered to.
• Mentoring and training subordinates.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
• Supervisory / management certificate advantageous.
• 10 years previous experience in mechanical engineering maintenance for heavy mobile equipment within open pit mine sites with 5 years as Mechanical Coordinator.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Projects.
• Strong experience in mentoring, training, coaching and guiding local nationals as an expatriate in Africa.
• Strong focus on health and safety standards and compliance.
